Kaurina’s Gola Pops
Gola Pops are the Sno-Cones of India. Fruit flavored syrup is poured over shaved ice in the traditional street treat. I used Indian food truck style as inspiration for the package, with bright colors, embellishments, and flavor cues that I drew by hand and then re-drew in Adobe Illustrator.
The multi-pack is available in Costco in Texas and California.
Kaurina’s Kulfi
Kulfi is Indian ice cream. Long ago in northern India, before people had freezers, kulfi was a treat for royalty. Servants would bring back hunks of ice from the Himalayas, and that was the only way they could freeze the cream to make the kulfi.
Although kulfi is well-known in India, it is not yet common in the United States. It is the goal of my Kaurina’s client to bring kulfi to a wider audience of Americans, so he did not want a very ethnic Indian look. We have a subtle mandala on the otherwise restrained and elegant package.
Kaurina’s GELATO
Italian style package for gelato pops. I drew the embellishments by hand, scanned into the computer and refined them as vector illustrations.
